OMG — observation / motivation / glamorisation

OMG — observation / motivation / glamorisation is a solo performance and interdisciplinary exploration that delves into themes of self-objectification and the White Gaze through gestures, dance movement, monologues, sound design, and video projections. Challenging perceptions and societal expectations, it invites audiences to contemplate the complex interplay between individual identity, external perceptions, and cultural stereotypes. The project probes themes of preconception, the idealisation of the other, and the enigmatic allure of “being different,” revealing profound layers of identity and existence.

Rooted in personal experience and philosophical questions, OMG — observation / motivation / glamorisation explores how cultural, social, and aesthetic forces shape our sense of self and influence how we are perceived by others. Through imagery, movement, and spoken word, the performance creates a reflective space for audiences to consider the fluid, ever-evolving nature of identity. OMG — observation / motivation / glamorisation blends these elements to provoke thought around the tensions between “the person you think I am” and “the person I am” — how we present ourselves versus how we are viewed by the world. This thought-provoking performative elements engage the audience intellectually and emotionally, encouraging introspective reflection on the construction of identity in today’s complex cultural landscape.
